The bald eagle that is majestically sitting with its baby in their nest is a hand casted piece of plaster, which was then meticulously painted. The coloring is vibrant and exudes a life like quality that is truly remarkable. This handmade sculpture has a great amount of detail, with intricate line work to distinguish the feathers and even glass eyes that stare out from the eagles’ heads. It has been mounted on an oatmeal colored background that is neutral, thus, allowing the sculpture to really show to advantage. A dark walnut shadow box frame, running about 2 ½” deep, encompasses the piece. It nicely complements the umber tones in the sculpture while remaining a classic choice to showcase this work of art. It has also been double matted with a beautiful burgundy bottom mat and a top black mat, both of which add a touch of elegance to the work. Since it is in a shadow box, the mats are expertly propped up away from the back, creating a wonderful feeling of depth.
