1807 German embroidery on silk, Friends/Parze NR unique Start Price USD 49.99 Current Price USD 49.99 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price USD 75.00 Reserve Price - Start Time Monday, May 12, 2008 End Time Monday, May 19, 2008 Location New Bern, North Carolina See more about '1807 German embroidery on silk, Friends/Parze NR unique' Description German saying, "Der Felden sei Sehen, Den Die Parze Dir Spint, Aus Freundschaft Den 28 Meir 1807", it is very finely embroidered on silk, and is in cursive so I probably have the spelling wrong.  I believe it has to do with friends and friendship, and Parze may be the mythical gods, not sure.   It is beautifully done, it is wrinkled and has very light soiling but I did not try to wash and iron it (are you crazy?).  Was not sure how to mount this so it is just on acid free board and matting under wood and glass frame.  Edges are frayed as if it were once sewn onto something.  Size of inside mat is 8 x 14.5.  Ends of the tapestry are lightly tatted to the blue background if anyone should want to professionally frame it.  It is over 200 years old.  Place a Bid!
