He was educated at the academy of fine art in Copenhagen and received Neuhausen's prize in 1885.  He exhibited at Charlottenborg, Kunstnerforeningen, Nordiske Kunstudstilling, Raadhusudstillingen and at the exhibition Soelleroed Billeder.  Carsten Henrichsen would have preferred to paint figures, but since there was more money in landscape paintings, he did scenes from Copenhagen and the areas around it, and of Northern Zealand's coast.  He was continuing the tradition from Eckersberg and many of his paintings are today not only valuable because of their high quality, but aslso in terms of topography.  He is represented a Oeregaards Museum, Frederiksborg Museum, Copenhagen City Museum, Bornholms' Kunstmuseum, Aarhus Kunstmusem, Roskilde Museum, Vejle Museum and the Royal Library's collection.  The Golden frame is in a good state except for minor scratches.       This frame looks like the original, and it is 3-1/2 inches wide.  With the frame the painting is approcimately 20-1/2 inches wide by 22-1/2 inches high.                    This is something that most people will only see in a museum.               Prior to e-mailing us with questions, please read the entire listing page from top to bottom and if you still have questions about this auction, or any others, please feel free to contact SportsWorld via e-mail at isla822693@aol.com.
