The subject is two kittens playing and fighting off lobsters escaping from a lobster man’s basket. The details and colors are wonderful. We were charmed the moment we saw it, cats, lobsters, and American, how wonderful. The painting is signed upper right J.H. Dolph, NA 1901 lower left. The painting is an oil on artist board and measures 20x16, 24x20 in frame. The frame is appropriate in style and age though it may not be original. The painting is in excellent condition and the frame has some expected age wear. Overall in very good condition and a super feline or cat theme. We have no provenance with this piece so it is sold as attributed to Dolph. *****On looking at the photos some came out with a bit of a lighting glare, the painting is not foggy, and some photos blanched out some colors.
