Hawthorne Road Winston-Salem, NC 27103 1919 RENOIR ENGRAVING SUR LE BORD DE LA MER COA OFFERED FOR AUCTION IS A 1919 ORIGINAL AUGUSTE RENOIR HELIOGRAVURE "SUR LE BORD DE LA MER", FIG. 62.  THERE IS A LETTER OF AUTHENTICATION FROM I. BREWSTER & CO TAPED ON THE BACK.  IT STATES THIS WAS LIMITED TO 1000 AND WAS THE PLATE WAS SIGNED BY RENOIR.  THIS WAS PURCHASED IN 1999 AND COMES FROM A NORTHERN VIRGINIA ESTATE.  IT MEASURES 16" WIDE X 13" TALL INCLUDING THE FRAME.  THE IMAGE SIZE IS 7 1/2" 7 3/4".  THE GILT FRAME HAS A SPLIT IN THE GESSO ON 3 OF THE CORNERS.  THE ENGRAVING IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH A FEW VISIBLE SPECKS ALONG THE BORDER AND ONE LIGHT SMUDGE.
