FRENCH Academy Study- SIGNED CLASSIC Rendering – Charcoal – LARGE Framed     Large Charcoal ACADEMY Study- signed Bouchard   This large, striking Academy drawing was discovered in Central France. The rendering depicts a classic sculpture, a commanding marble bust handsomely depicted in this charcoal rendering on paper.  Beautifully executed, the drawing has a wonderful classic air. This large framed work stands over 39” in height and bears a signature that appears to read: “Bouchard”. This charcoal drawing is further marked with n stamp along the bottom edge, but this is fairly illegible (see photo details).   The drawing looks to date from the late 19th C. Newly set in a large, vintage frame; the drawing has been mounted upon an archival mat. The work is floated on the new mat so that the edges of the drawing, a bit tattered and worn, remain visible. The frame is of a later vintage dating the mid to late 20th C. The glass is new.   As expected from a portfolio work of this age, this charcoal drawing has obvious signs of age and use. The paper is worn and a bit tattered, light creases and other signs of handling are apparent.
