Description
Size 14 x16in 19thC watercolour One of two naive portraits we will be putting up of a victorian gentleman and lady. This is the gentleman, which is a very nice portrait done in the naive style, as he sits on his chair with his glasses in his hand. He is dressed in a black frock coat and is seated on what seems to be an old mahogany chair. The portrait came from the Sherley family and this is a painting of George Sherley, father of Eliza Sherley and grandfather of Henry Lawrence. This is written on the backing paper to this painting. There is no signature that we can see unless it is under the border. As this is firmly attatched we do not want to dislodge it. However it is believed that both portraits we are selling were painted by Charlotte Sherley . Condition is very good . Cost to US 19.00..or insured $29.00 Cost to UK $12.00
