The painting carries a signature of Jose Benlliure y Gil When I researched the name I found that artist lived from 1855-1937 and is known for his Religious scenes. In further researching the prices for the artist I noticed a very similar Painting which was 16" by 9" and fetched an extremely high figure at auction (please see artnet.com) This Oil on Wooden Panel is in very good condition and I blacklighted the signature and it did not flouresce measures unframed 15”x11,1/4”.I black lighted it and there was no flourescence.
