He studied at the Avni Institute in Tel Aviv and continued his studies in Paris, where he stayed for for ten years. In 1975 he took part at the Biennale of Paris. Since the 1960's he had shows both in France and in Israel. Works by Stettner can be found at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, at the Haifa Museum and at the Tel Aviv Museum.
