Description
View Seller's Other Items This item is new and in excellent condition. A really nice keepsake gift for that someone special. I finished handcrafting this item on November 29, 2007, from Brazilian Tulipwood. The item is assembled from 33-pieces. It is approximately 5" wide by 9" tall to finial tip (bowl without lid is 5-3/4" tall) and weighs 8-ounces. Finial and pedestal are made from African Blackwood. The finish is satin polyurethane. Item comes with my signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity. With the box and packing materials, the Priority Mail shipping weight is 2-lbs. My items are delicate, so to lessen the opportunities for damage in shipment, they are shipped via the United States Post Office using Priority Mail. The flat rate includes the Post Offices' Delivery Confirmation charge. Insurance is optional, so if you want your package insured, just remember to check the INSURANCE box just before you pay. This item is gorgeous and best appreciated when in hand. Keep in mind that photographs do not reflect the true beauty of the wood, as unfortunately the photos wash out marbling and grain patterns. About Our Product Line: These items are my handcrafted art, in the form of original decorator bowls of all types. They are nice for the collector of segmented, lathe-turned, wood items. The finish is food safe after 30-days of curing. Each are a great looking display item and nice keepsake as well as being functional for wrapped candy, nuts, fresh fruit, silk & dried flower arrangements, etc. The best lumber of various wood types is selected, cut to precise angles, then glued together. In many cases I will add white and black thin veneers to the design. The white veneer is usually made out of Holly (USA) and black veneer is usually made out of Hard Maple (USA) that has been dyed black with permanent TransDye. The form is turned on a lathe and the shape emerges. The inside and outside is sanded smooth and all surfaces receive at least five finish coats and normally many more. Since this is an all-wood product, keep in mind that there are natural flaws such as dark lines, imperfections, knots, worm holes, etc. which add to the uniqueness and beauty of the piece. As with any wood product, it is best to display it out of direct sunlight and never put it in the refrigerator. As item ages, the wood tones will darken. Item bases are signed and numbered except where it wouldn't be readable like on black or dark woods. About Us: Please email your questions before you bid. Check my feedback and bid with confidence.
