Description
Offering three early works by Chinese abstract artist Li Yuan Chia ( 1929-1994) considered one of the founders if not THE founder of Chinese abstract art as practiced by the west in the 1950's and 60's. Much information available on google search by name. These three pieces ( titled 2:0; 2:1 & 3:2 )were purchased in a Swiss Art Gallery (Suzanne Bollag ) in the 1960's by Chicago art collector. The Tate Gallery owns 14 his works in their collection, but only one this early. They were made in Italy, 1964. The artist was the child of a Nationalist Chinese family who were forced to Taiwan (Formosa)in the late 1940's. Whereupon the young Li Yuan Chia became interested in the abstract art movement. Travelled to Italy then on to London. I would assume that early works of Li Yuan Chia are rather rare, but are very important in his development. These works have been authenticated by well known English art historian and friend of Li yuan chia, Guy Brett, who stated to me that these are also Li Yuan Chia's handmade frames. The ouside dimensions of the frames are 14" square. Any questions please email tyanul at aol.com. WORKS COULD BE SENT TO FRANCE OR ENGLAND PRIOR TO PURCHASE FOR AUTHENTIFICATION. Direct contact can be made at tyanul at aol.com. Transportation & insurance would be the responsibilty of the buyer. Payment may also be made in Euros to French address. No reserve, no paypal.
