Carved from 1 pc of Wood' Description These whimsey chains were carved just as a form of bragging.  It takes a skillful carver to turn one long solid piece of wood into intersecting chain links that move.  This one is 50 inches long.  This also has 3 cage boxes among the links, one of which still has the wooden ball rolling around inside the cage.  The boxes all have foliate designs carved into their sides.  Although I've seen these that were made in the USA, I don't know that this one was.  I picked it up at an estate sale. The edges show some slight wear, also known as patina.   It's a beautiful example of folk art.  Email if you have questions.
