Andy Warhol's last set of prints, "Camouflage" were published posthumously. The pattern-based on the motif camouflage-appeared also as paintings, some combined with Warhol's self portrait. The prints are extremely difficult to reproduce accurately because of the use of fluorescent ink, resulting in a condition that might be tolerable, even expected, with a painting or other "original" work of art, but not with something so eminently reproducible as a print. Warhol transformed our understanding of the print into something quite different from what we believed it to be: in his hands it became unique, even unreproducible.Originally produced as a portfolio of 8 screenprints, each in editions of 80.
