What a RARE and WONDERFUL FIND this TINY ~ FOLK ART ~ HAND-CARVED ~ WOOD BUCKET with WIRE BAIL & WOOD HANDLE is! I have never seen a wood bucket this tiny with so much beautiful and precise hand-carved detail. I love the tiny wire bail with wood handle. We can't imagine this tiny treasures original purpose. It seems far too detailed to have been made as a child's toy so we are thinking that perhaps it was a salesman's sample made to show off the talents of it's maker or perhaps a Folk Art whimsy. A true piece of hand-made AMERICANA FOLK ART, this little bucket is perfect in every detail and looks exactly like a full size decorated antique woodenware bucket! Only so tiny it sits on my pinkie finger with room to spare! The carving is lovely... consisting of four tiny flowers so detailed in their carving that the flowers parts show.... petals, stalk, even stamen! The top and bottom have been carved in such a way as to resemble "graining" and there are incised lines going around the piece just above and below the detailed carved flowers, equally spaced around the tiny bucket. The tiny bucket looks adorable sitting on the little blue and white antique childs cupboard I have up for bid now in one of my other auctions. I have it displayed with other precious child sized kitchen collectibles that I have up for bid now in my other auctions or will be listing soon so take a look at my other auctions if interested. The bucket measures just 2" high by 2 1/4" across at the top and is 1 3/4" across at the bottom. It is 1 1/2" deep inside. The tiny bucket and it's ORIGINAL aged wood finish comes to you in excellent condition with wonderful patina. You can tell by looking the tiny bucket was hand carved and the natural wood finish has been rubbed smooth over time just from the oils coming from the hands that have held it. The little wire bail has a tiny black painted wood bail handle that the wire bail passes through. There is just minor paint loss on the little handle. Such a neat detail! This tiny bucket with all it's hand-carved detail and tiny wood and wire bail handle would make a unique addition to any ANTIQUE SALESMAN'S SAMPLE, FOLK ART or VINTAGE TOY COLLECTION. What a Wonderful and unique find to show off in any room of your home! Also great for display with ANTIQUE DOLLS and TEDDY BEARS and the child size accessories that go along with such collections.
