Here's some info on the artist:Alexander Dzigurski did not set up his easel on the Pacific Coast or in the Grand Tetons, or any of the other majestic American locales for which he was famous until after his 38th birthday. He and his young family, like the rest of Europe, had to endure World War II. Permanent collections of his work are in the Franklin Mint Museum of American Art, in Franklin enter, PA; R.W. Norton Gallery in Shreveport, LA; the Republic Bank of Dallas, Dallas, TX; the Michigan Bank of Chicago, IL.; the Ravenswood Bank of Chicago, IL.; Caterpillar Tractor Co., Peoria, IL. Dzigurskis paintings are found in the homes of some of the best known collectors of art ranging from New Jersey to California. His awards are too numerous to mention.There is an intersting history of ownership of this painting. Check the scans!!!This piece was purchased by Mr. S.E. McCrum at the Seascape Gallery (owned by P.J. Chabody) in Beverly Hills CA on July 31, 1969.
