Description
Private collection of thirty-six (36) extremely unique, "one of a kind" original and rare pencil art sketches created in the late 1930's and early 1940's featuring the famous "Amos and Andy" radio characters. The artist lived in Chicago, IL where the show originated. Most of the sketches are drawn on approximately 11x14 art boards, using a medium of graphite pencil with some colored pencil use. The artist paid extremely close attention to precise details - i.e. jewelry & accessories, fingernails, clothing, gestures. The prints range from excellent to good condition. A photo is shown depicting the entire collection, with the other photos shown depicting a representation of the individual sketches. This collection would be a valuable asset for fans of the "Amos and Andy" series, or collectors of black art/history.
