Stretcher measures 42.5" by 29.25" by 0.75". Giltwood and gesso frame is likely original to the painting and measures 48" by 35.5" by 3". Stretcher carries the stamped hallmark for the Iparmuveszeti Muzeum (the Museum of Applied Arts) in Budapest Hungary, indicating the piece was authenticated and approved for export in accordance with Hungarian law. Canvas was relined many years ago, prior to export from Hungary. We have not found a signature. This painting likely dates from the late nineteenth century. There are gesso losses at each corner and in other spots, and our images below are representative of the losses throughout.
