This wonderful old painting measures 15 1/2" x 19 1/2".  The gorgeous ornate frame measures about 28 3/4" x 28". The picture is reverse painted onto glass.  This highly collectible style of painting is a difficult process and therefore hard to come by.  The painting depicts a sleepy country cottage near a creek.  A nostalgic stone bridge crosses the creek.  The bottom says HIGHLANDS, SCOTLAND. This painting is in superb condition.  There is one small spot near the sky where the paint has worn.  The colors are fresh and magnificent.  I bought this directly from the family who told me it was circa 1910.  The frame is antique style, but new.  This highly decorative painting would grace any room in your home and can be yours for a bargain.
