The left hand of Christ is holding a golden globe with small red insignia. The painting contains fine gold paint (~25 micron thick). There are numerous features in this painting including an ornate golden crown (with insignia representative of a European Kingdom/Emperor), meandering blue river, decorative clothing features, mountains with distant symbol. There is a hidden silver sublayer on the Mary that is faintly visible. This work has been stored in a climate controlled environment to our knowledge ~ 100+ years. This artifact was relocated from Europe to the United States prior to the first World War (WWI) to protect it from possible damage or destruction. Any questions, please ask.
