Description
Charles Henry Turner (1848 - 1908) WELL NOTED AMERICAN ARTIST Charles H. Turner was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts on August 7, 1848. Painted landscapes, portraits, illustrations, and genre scenes in oil and watercolors. HE Studied with Otto Grundman (1844-1890) at Boston Museum of Fine Arts School. Turner was a member of the Unity Art Club and the Boston Art Club where he became president. He exhibited at the Boston Art Club at various times from 1881 until 1907. In 1887 he exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and gave his address as 12 West Street, Boston, MA. His last known address was 68 Mt. Vernon Street, Boston, Massachusetts. She is posed in front of a set of steps leading to a doorway entrance. There is a window to her right with old style glass pains. The frame is not the original. The frame is of later make custom made beautifully for this painting .The frame is made of wood, gold gilded and ornately carved. THE PAINTING HAS BEEN VIEWED UNDER A UV BLACK LIGHT SIGNATURE AND PAINTING ARE ORIGINAL. THERE IS NO NOTICEABLE IN PAINTING OR RESTORATION THAT STANDS OUT IN CONTRAST TO THE ORIGINAL PAINT.
