It is titled "Ortega's Party Discovers the Golden Gate.". The outer dimensions are 13 x 24" and the image itself is 20 1/4 x 7". The drawing itself is beautifully done in colored pencils and it is in very good condition. The illustration board has yellowed a bit with time but it has been sitting in a portfolio untouched for the last forty years so the colors are bright and true. It is not signed but the handwriting below the image is in Helen Lundeburg's distinctive script. This piece was obtained directly from Helen Lundeburg as a gift to Harry Carmean so its provenance is impeccable. Helen's fine sense of color, refined line, and early Renaissance composition are all nicely developed in this work.
