This is a beautiful botanical print by Jung, Koch, Quentell purchased directly from Hagemann in Dusseldorf, Germany I bought 2 of them and am keeping one for myself. It is brand new, in original packaging tied with a ribbon. These prints are next to impossible to find in the US, trust me, I tried for several months! Here are the details of this print: Dog Rose / Rosaceae: Rosa dumetorum Print Size 85 cm x 120 cm, mounted on canvas with black wood stabilizing rods on top and bottom Creators: Jung, Koch, Quentell The print design was created in 1957 Picture of twig, flower and gall of dog rose Long twig, bearing no flowers Short twig with flower Apical flower and buds on short shoot (enlarged) Single flower cut longitudinally Ripe hip (pseudocarp and collective fruit) Hip in longitudinal section Prickles (epidermal outgrowths) Gall cut open, with larvae of the gall-fly Rose gall There is only 1 imperfection with this print (and coincidentally the print I am keeping). When unrolling it, the very bottom of the print in the lower right hand corner, the black was stuck to the rod and the very top layer of the paper. This seems to be a common thing with these prints (since it happened to both of mine). There are several ways to deal with it, 1- ignore it, as you can see in the big photo of the print, it is very small and all the way in the lower corner, 2- fill it in with a black paint marker or sharpie (i did this on mine and it is barely noticible at all), 3- crop that portion off the print if having it framed. Some background on these prints: The Hagemann company was started in the late 1800's by three men; a doctor, an artist and a teacher. Together they created a superior teaching aid that combined beautiful & detailed artwork. To make their charts useful to schools throughout Europe; different aspects of botany, zoology, and the human body are described in detail with pictures only.
