It comes from the collection of John and Rosamund Wallinger. This lovely painting has all the features and senses of the French Barbizon school with the poetic beauty of the nymphs. The scene is veiled in a bright light, surrounded by dark trees. It has been executed in a delicate, early impressionist manner. A truly accomplished work of immense beauty. In his valuable and original frame this painting will be an eye-catcher on the wall. Recent auctions for "Follower of Diaz", "Manner of" and "Circle of” show strong market interest even for works associated with the Artist, although not necessarily by the Master himself.
