In the late 1920's Ulmann found her signature style when she began making trips each summer to document the rural people of the South, particularly the mountain peoples of Appalachia and the Gullahs of the Sea Islands. With a profound respect for her sitters and an ethnographer's eye for culture, Ulmann took portraits and photographs of artisans at work.  We have a collection of 80 of these photogravures that have been professionally matted and beautifully framed.  Framing cost $15,000 alone.  Some of the frames have small nicks in them since they have been moved a few times, but they can be easily fixed.  These used to hang on a wall when we had a much bigger home.  Now we have no place for them and would prefer not separate the collection because it makes such a large impact when they are all together and it is a family collection.  A few of the pieces are shown below for reference but we can certainly take more pictures of others.Freight shipping will have to be determined later for serious buyers.  Thanks for looking and please email with questions!
