A couple of minor, expertly repaired tears mostly in the upper left and right corners. 1/4 - 1/2 in. margins on all 4 sides of impression Description:This touching work by the Old Master Albrecht Dürer has a great emotional depth, bringing a true visual understanding of faith, sorrow and solitude to life. The attention to detail in this masterpiece is astounding as evidenced in the intricate engraving and fine twill-work on the Virgin's bed thus depicting Dürer's care and reverence in his portrayal of this bed of serenity, comfort and peace. The Men surrounding her in their state of mourning are each very distinct and purposefully set into this admirable scene of love and devotion. A true work of unparalleled talent, The Death of the Virgin will offer endless awe-inspiring amazement and appreciation. The Death of the Virgin is printed on fine laid handmade paper with the "Eagle with Flower" watermark, which dates this particular impression to the 16th Century.
