Description
available for auction is a very large life size folk art wood sculpture of a butler or man servant in black face. the sculpture is approximately 5 feet tall and is in all original paint. this sculpture was most likely used in a carnival. there is obvious wear of the paint on top of the head and shoulders from being displayed outdoors in the rain. age of the carving is circa 1920's. it is not carved from a single piece of wood, but in sections similar to carousel animals. the feet are on wood pedestal blocks, with the toes of one foot missing. please contact me for additional photos. a very intersting carving that falls into the americana and black folk art categories. overall condition is good or better. this item is large and heavy, therefore shipping charges may be high. it can also be picked up from my location. All items are guaranteed for your satisfaction. No sales are final until you have received your merchandise for inspection. You may return the purchased item for any reason if you are not satisfied. After all you are purchasing an item without visually inspecting it. I try to describe the item as best as possible, including condition.
