This version of the Spirit Of St. Louis has everything pretty much historically correct, with some additions, whimsically speaking. It was scratch built in upstate New York by a teenager who was completely taken by Charles Lindbergh I'm told. There's Nose Art, tin advertising and cigar box engine cover. I love this plane, there's even a bullet hole in the wing tip. I would suggest that the prop was the difficult part to carve, it's definitely out of scale, but sure makes a point about it's importance. This plane was built in the garage a year after the flight by an amateur who was an artist and never knew it. I know there are a lot of people who wouldn't look twice at this plane, all Art is like that, it requires a depth of understanding form a little off center. The wing span is 38" and so is the length.
