He moved to the US in 1964 where he was stunned by the beautiful sights in America. Without any formal artistic training, Hargrove perfected the use of a serigraph using the inspiration of the town he lived in. The best description is that this is a "print on canvas." Hargrove was soon recognized for his works of art and was named the Official Artist for the Olympics Centennial Games in 1996. Three years later he was named the Official Artist for the 1999 Women's World Cup Soccer Tournament. Today, H. Hargrove is considered the most collected artist in the US.
