Description
This hand-signed work by pop artist Andy Warhol is titled "Geronimo". This piece is from the Cowboys and Indians suite created by Warhol in 1986. It is in excellent condition. This work is referenced in the catalogue raisonne Andy Warhol Prints (Feldman & Schellmann, 2003) as II.384. This screenprint measures 36 x 36" and was printed on Lenox Museum Board. Fifty artist's proofs were created for this image. This work is from that AP edition of 50. According to the catalogue raisonne, Warhol combined portaits and objects for the first time when he created the Cowboys and Indians suite in 1986. These were based on archival and publicity photographs, postcards, and photographs of Native American artifacts. Auction results suggest that ever-increasing value is being placed on the "Geronimo" screenprint. The last time this work went through auction was on September 7, 2007. At that time, a work from the regular edition of "Geronimo" sold for $36,000 (USD). See Leslie Hindman Auction, 9/7/07 (Lot 202). Please contact us if you would like additional images or information about this work. We also have available 2 other works from the Cowboys & Indians suite. If interested, please ask. Please note that shipping insurance is included to the purchaser of this work. Other works by several modern masters are availble for viewing in our ebay store. .
