Description
Parc Figures is a rare, original pen and ink drawing, circa 1963 Paris, on Arches Buff paper with natural deckled edge.  It is signed in pencil by the artist, Harold Altman.   It measures 4 1/2" X 6" and is in very good condition. Known worldwide as a Master Etcher and Lithographer, Harold Altman had not released unique drawings, such as this, since the 1960's.  Having maintained a close personal and working relationship with Harold for many years has allowed me access to rare works that otherwise would not be available  to his numerous contemporary collectors.  This piece was acquired directly from the artist.  For the Altman collector, this is a true jewel, PRICED TO SELL. Harold Altman was born in New York City in 1924.  He attended The Art Students League, The Black Mountain College, The Acadamie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris, and was a graduate of The Cooper Union School of the Arts.  Since 1962, he lived in the Central Pennsylvania Village of Lemont,  and spent four months of each year in Paris, where he worked at the oldest and most prestigious  Ateliers - LeBlanc, Mourlot and DesJobert. He is recognized by critics as one of the leading American Artists and is ranked among the finest printmakers in the world.  His works are represented in numerous galleries and museums in both the United States and Abroad - The Museum of Modern Art, New York, The Whitney Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Boston Museum of Fine Arts, The Smithsonian Institute,  The Victoria and Albert Museum in London, The Bibliotheque Nationale of Paris, The Stedelikj Museum of Amsterdam, and The Museum of Modern Art, Haifa,  to name only a few.  Harold Altman passed away in 2003.   Although seller is relatively new to eBay, he has almost 40 years experience as an art dealer and collector, including ownership of 2 successful galleries in New York.  We encourage any queries that you may have. Your purchase will be professionally packed, shipped and insured.
