After earning a degree in history, she studied metal arts at the Oregon School of Arts & Crafts which led from making custom jewelry to a business rebuilding and restoring Pontiac GTO's. She divides her time between her homes in Portland, Oregon and Hilo, Hawaii. Her painting of horses eventually moved her to become fascinated with doing landscapes. Her works eventually found their way into the Volcano Art Center and into top collections. Her father is the writer Dale Carnegie. This selection being offered on Ebay is entitled "Coastal Cauldron".....it is signed (date of creation is 2006) and is in excellent condition. Measuring 19 1/2" x 9 1/2", it is framed in antique wood. The framed size is 21 1/2" x 11 1/2". The image is an impressionistic view of lava entering the ocean along Hawaii island's south shore. Seldom does one encounter an artist who can capture the volcanic imagery so well. Unlike volcano artists from the past, such as D. Howard Hitchcock, Jules Tavernier, William Peterson, Lionel Walden, Joseph Strong, etc., Carnegie's works are less "realistic" but equally magnificent.
