Description
One of Jiang Tie Feng's Magnificient Earlier works, Mother and Child was completed in 1987, a mixed media painting on rice paper.  The paper size is approx. 41" x 41" with the overall framing at approximately 48" x 48".  The framing is in excellent shape and is a stepped frame in black laquer.  The piece remains in the original frame with the Dyansen Gallery plate still attached to the back of the frame.  Priced well under market value.  Buyer selects and pays shipping and handling. This piece comes from an estate which contained multiple early pieces from Jiang including personally signed books of his works. For more on Jiang read below. Jiang Tiefeng was born in China in 1938. From 1962 to 1964 he studied with the renowned Chinese artist Huang Yong-Yu, who exposed him to the paintings from the DunHuang caves. In 1964 Jiang earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at the prestigious Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. He became one of the most well-known illustrators of children's books in China.Jiang is one of the founders of the Yunnan School of Painting, which is the most important contemporary movement of abstract art in China. The Yunnan School is influenced by traditional Chinese art and by modern Western influences. From 1966 to 1973 he produced ‘Socialist Realism’ propaganda posters and sculptures during Mao’s Cultural Revolution, the famous large red-faced poster of Mao is made by Jiang Tiefeng.. Due to the discouraging any individual artistic expression by China’s Communist Regime, he had to perfect his own style in secrecy. Upon moving to the United States in 1983 Jiang was able to paint without fear of political persecution. His talent and uniqueness quickly brought his work to the attention of critics and museums nationwide, this resulted in many public exhibitions. His works have been actively collected worldwide since the early 1980's.Jiang works primarily in watercolor and serigraphy. He is a genius at using line to give the illusion of depth to a flat two-dimensional surface. He is a storyteller in his art work, each figure has a symbolic meaning. His paintings have so much complexity and visual fascination that the viewer is constantly seeing something new. IMPORTANT NOTE:  PLEASE DISREGARD MY CURRENT FEEDBACK PERCENTAGE.
