The Spokane-born painter Kenneth Callahan was one of the leading artists of the Pacific Northwest school. He was a self-taught artist who drew inspiration from the natural world and, especially in his earlier work, mankind’s interaction with it. The Callahan drawing was purchase from  Foster / White Gallery that was located in Pioneer Square at the time.
