The frame has a small chip on the bottom right corner as you can see in the picture , which I think just adds to its beauty & patina.... nothing major !!! see the pictures Signed by French Artist : Madame Lea Lafugie 1890 - 1970 Lea Lafugie1890-1970 Lafugie was born in France in 1890.  At the age of 16 she entered the École des Arts Décoratifs de Paris.  In 1925 she began traveling the world, first to Sri Lanka, then India, where she painted portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and the poet Rabindranath Tagore.  After that she  traveled to Tibet,  Southeast Asia, China, and Japan.  Lafugie is believed to have lived most of her life outside of France, it is known she had many exhibitions in India. Lafugie’s paintings have a charm and playfulness consistent with the atmosphere of the 1920’s, she paints with a flare for the dramatic.  I acquired this piece from a prominant Antique Dealer locally , He retired shortly after.
