Original watercolor by Frederick ( Frank ) William Scarborough ( British: c1860 - 1939 ) : signed in watercolour lower right - " F.W. Scarbrough " and titled in watercolour lower left - " Blackwall Reach ":  Image/sheet size: 9 3/8 inches by 13 1/2 inches: circa 1890/1900: ( framed ). Well known for his atmospheric watercolours and colorful scenes of busy shipping in the tidal Thames, Scarborough exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, the Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, and the Nottingham Museum and Art Gallery. ( Ref: British Marine Painting/ Denys Brook-Hart/1981 ). NOTE: Brook-Hart illustrates Scarboroughs' Thames watercolours with two full pages in his book and notes " His work has been somewhat neglected and undervalued until recent years, but now is widely admired and collected ".
