Luigi showed great artistic talent even at a young age. He was barely six when he skillfully used chalk in depicting subjects that fascinated him. At age eight, Luigi and his family left for Trieste. He was thirteen when he first received his first taste of success, when he won first prize in the international painting competition in Jesolo. It was the Academia Art School in Venice, that stimulated his artistic development. He later moved to Turin to enroll in Accademia Albertina, where the master artist Felice Casorati taught. Luigi always turned to the past for inspiration: the reinassance, baroque,and classical styles. He later was influenced by the American and British Pop artists. He studied the techniques of Malcolm Morley and Robey Bettle to name a few. He achieved his goal with the use of the camera, not by taking a photo apart but by capturing details not caught by the human eye and transposing them to the canvas.
