There were 40 in the series and they were printed by Fernand Mourlot under the supervision of Matisse. The death of Matisse in 1954 halted the publication of the lithographs until 1958 when they were issued by 'Verve', the only source of these original lithographs. This is one of the most famous and sought after images by Matisse. It is an original lithograph, not a reproduction.
