Ruth had been a very good worker and was reassured by Boaz in this scene that she would be taken care of and watched over (need not fear any longer). Her services had been noticed and her future would be better. The painting is  of unbelievable quality and outstanding execution of the very tedious detail. Shows old relining and some crazing. Very stable varnish and one very small patch in the upper left corner. Probably from the 18th c or earlier. The colors are of an early generation. I did not black light the painting, but it would appear to have small areas of inpaintings and maybe old restoration that does not affect the look of this masterpiece.
