Marcel Mouly (1918 - Jan. 7, 2008) Mouly was born in Paris in 1918 and did not decide to pursue art until 1942 when he was arrested by Germans.  The Germans had mistaken him for a spy and placed him in solitary confinement for a year.  It was through this confinement that he decided to pursue art.  Mouly was the last living person to study under Picasso and was considered one of the greatest contemporary artists of the century.
