Klein was nationally known and listed and was widely exhibited in the 30s and 40s. Klein was very knowledgable in music and saw his own work as a sort of visual music inspired by great classical musicians. He died in 2002 and his estate came open on the Chicago market. This is a piece from a collection that was picked up in an antique store in Chicago. This drawing is in good condition and was done on a heavyweight "sketchbook" type material. The left edge has two hole-punches, presumably to fit in a an artists' ring notebook. The punches can easily be covered up with a simple matt when it is framed.
