Published by Maeght Editeur and printed on Arches vellum paper, this work is numbered 13/200 in pencil in the lower left margin and hand signed by Joan Miró (1893 - 1983) in pencil in the lower right margin. This is a wonderful and brightly colored piece exhibiting Miró's early printing technique. Boldly executed, the balance of solid shapes and meandering details create a buzzing of activity within the piece. The bright mint-green color combined with the delicate inking of the black creates a fantastic rendition of the science of the cosmos. This is a very good impression of this scarce, early print; the large black crescent form in the upper left of the image first captures the viewer's attention and continues to lead the eye throughout the piece through curvilinear and dotted accents. Engulfed in a green background, the forms appear as though encapsulated in separate areas within the image. This wonderful piece is a visually engaging example of Miró's playful use of abstracted imagery. Catalogue Raisonné & COA:It is fully documented and referenced in the below catalogue raisonnés and texts (copies will be enclosed as added documentation with the invoices that will accompany the final sale of the work) : 1. About the Framing:Set in a robust, Italian style ornate gold and bronze frame, the ribbon detailing of the moulding compliments the meandering curved shapes within the image. The contrasting gold coloration of the frame enhances the bold colors within this piece.
