Mose Tolliver - MoseT - Woman with Child Start Price USD 199.00 Current Price USD 232.50 Time Left - Bid Count 7 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Thursday, May 15, 2008 End Time Thursday, May 22, 2008 Location The South See more about 'Mose Tolliver - MoseT - Woman with Child' Description Capturing a great MoseT with the camera is not so easy.  He was a great outsider artist.  The lady's face has a myriad of colors and shadings.  Her face is a taupy grey with hints of pink on the right cheek and mouth.  Her hair runs from grey to blue to taupe.  Her eyes are black with violet centers.  Her nose in brown shades.  Eyebrows are grey running to violet.  She has black ear-rings.  She is wearing a blue dress with darker blue shadings.  She has a cane or a staff which seems symbolic of Mose's infirmity.  The background is white and Mose, not wanting his customers to spend money on a frame, painted a beautiful violet or lavender frame with some blue streaks.  The piece measures 31 x 14 1/2 and is, of course, on plywood.  I personally guarantee this piece to be an origianl Mose Tolliver painting.  I have known Mose T from the 1970s till his death a couple of years ago and bought many pieces of art from him.  He was such a nice man with a sly sense of humor and he was always ready for company.  I can still see him sitting on his bed painting on a board that he held on his lap.  He was extra happy when you'd bring him lunch and a beverage.   Many people from all over the country came to see him, some extremely socially important.  Mose treated everyone the same.    Wrapped this piece is in the 4lbs category and will be shipped parcel post.  Insurance is requied on this piece.    Place a Bid!
