It measures 8" across at the base and 7 1/2" tall. I found this wonderful firkin in Pennsylvania at a barn sale on one of my antique hunting trips to the east coast. This firkin is in excellent condition and no repairs have been done to this piece. The original paint is intact, with a very warm, crusty surface from oxidation. The bands are tight and held together with copper nails and the staves are tongue and groove construction indicating pre-1900 age and could date back as far as 1860. This is a very hard to find size and color, and will make a wonderful addition to any collection. Place a Bid!
