Her website is annjamesmassey.com. She was kind enough to email me and confirm that this was her work, it was a commisioned piece for a client who wanted to gift it to the owner of the horse, businessman Rip Russell. The name of the horse is not known, but it is believed the jockey is Leroy Combs. The piece is entitled simply Racehorse, and features horse and jockey at Ruidoso Downs racetrack in Ruidoso, New Mexico. The piece measures 10" x 11" and is matted in dark brown and khaki in a distressed wood frame. Signed on the back "Thanks for everything, Ron & Ann, 5/13/78".
