Check out his website at www.russelliott.com .   405 East 54th St. New York, NY  10022  Office: 212.758.6632 s Fax 212.759.6750 * RUSSELLIOTTNYC@AOL.COM Russ Elliott makes no bones about it….  He is a designers’ painter, and loves the challenge of it….He was the lead-in for a layout in Interior Design magazine more than 20 years ago featuring his gallery apartment.  Since then he has added another 20 years working with the various greats of design and decoration.  Some of his most famous projects were the COPACABANA in New York city which he restored with new murals and paintings and moved 3 times over a 25 year period. Another was the CARLYLE HOTEL that he restored and added "New", faithfully copied Bemmelman paintings to match the existing ones as well as the ERTE ROOM for Bobby Short.  At the WYNDHAM HOTEL in New York City he designed and decorated the MINOTAUR RESTAURANT with Murals and Paintings of King Minos' throne room (2,000 B.C.) from the Island of Knossos (Crete). The GREENBRIER HOTEL in West Virginia for the noted designer Carleton Varney he added new murals and paintings for their spa just in time for President Bush' arrival.  Elliott also created for Varney one of the largest tropical murals in Florida, over 20,000 sq. ft. for the HIBISCUS RESTAURANT in Palm Beach Gardens.  Another mural commission in St. Croix for Carleton was featured in Architectural Digest as well as Peters Island.  Mr. Varney also introduced Russ to the late actress Joan Crawford who became his patron and commissioned him to do 8 paintings for her home that Mr. Varney had decorated.  Miss Crawford later hosted along with Dina Merrill and Cliff Robertson and Uniroyal a show of Mr. Elliott's painting for the Island of Curacao for the benefit of the United States Olympic Ski Team. The ROOKWOOD RESTAURANT in Ohio and TRUMP TOWER with rooms of painted Clouds were other projects which Mr. Elliott did for Carletons, Dorothy Draper Company. BLACKBEARDS CASTLE and LOUISENHOJ CASTLE in St. Thomas were some of my favorite projects.  HALCYON COVE in Antigua all with murals and paintings and Faux work. Some highlights in my one man shows ROSENBAUM GALLERY in Palm Beach where my co-host was a 9 month old lion cub named "Whiskey."  AMBASSADOR GALLERY also in Palm Beach having the pleasure of the company of Jack Palance "without pushups" and Tippi Hedren.  GALLERY 400 in New York City where Joan Crawford hosted my show and 4 overly dressed "Joan Crawfords" arrived for the show.  Miss Crawford was not amused to say the least.  And the show goes on....my resume is online for those who wish to see what I have accomplished throughout the years.
