One of the great Old World Master painters of Europe, Francois Guerin has paintings proudly displayed in the Louvre Museum in Paris including a portrait of Madame de Pompadour and one of Madame de Pompadour and her daughter, Alexandrine. Madame de Pompadour of course was the famous Mistress of King Louis XV of France. This portrait, entitled “Fille de Mme de Pompadour” is of the daughter Alexandrine alone. The Master Guerin’s strokes have captured an unmatched depth of delicate beauty, humanity, serenity and uncanny resemblance to the girl’s mother.
