Oil Painting - Portrait of Angolo Doni 1506 - European ORIGINAL Start Price USD 10,000.00 Current Price USD 10,000.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Thursday, July 03, 2008 End Time Sunday, July 13, 2008 Location Hialeah, Florida See more about 'Oil Painting - Portrait of Angolo Doni 1506 - European' Description This oil painting portrait of 'Raphael Agnolo Doni' 1506, was picked up at one of my grandmother's estate sales here in Coral Gables (Miami) Florida back about 20 years ago.  She was an antique dealer with her own shop for many, many years, and had this hanging in her home in Coral Gables for many years as well.  Frame is of unknown origin, but says "Made in Italy" on the back.  Painting is 17-1/2" x 24-1/2" without the frame and is in overall perfect condition except for minor scratch within his hair which did not puncture the canvas, otherwise would be flawless.  Painting could be dated back as far as the 15th Century, due to it's true rustic presentation, and signatures on back look authentic and appear to be from that time period.  It even has remnance of what appears to be a spot where an old wax stamp from the artist may have melted away over time at the top left on the back of the canvas.  If this is a replica, it is no doubt that it is a VERY OLD replica dating back potentially soon after the original! Frame is in overall good condition besides a couple of almost unseen chips.  Painting has not been evaluated by an appraiser yet, may be my loss and your gain! Good Luck!
