The drawing, created in New Orleans, appears to be part of the same series documented in the accompanying book. The book is entitled "Rodant Pel Mon" (Roaming About the World) With Urbici Soler - Sculptor (1890-1953) by Paul Dean Daniggelis and it is signed by the author. The book is hardcover with the jacket and is in fair shape. (The back cover is beginning to come loose from the bound pages and there are a few tears in the jacket cover.) The book contains many pictures of Urbi (as he's referenced in the book) with other famous El Paso artists such as Tom Lea and Manuel Acosta along with many pictures of his work, mainly sculptures as that is what he is best known for. Urbici is the creator of "Cristo Rey" the landmark sculpture that towers over El Paso, Texas. Gallery/retail price on these items is $1,200 for the drawing and $45 for the book. From askart: Born in Farran, Spain in 1890. Soler studied in Barcelona and at the Hildebrand School in Munich. He completed sculptures for the French Bank in Buenos Aires before moving to San Francisco in 1931. After establishing a studio he was active there for about a year before returning to Munich to assume directorship of his school. At the onset of WWII he moved to Texas and taught sculpture at Texas Western College. While there he created the statue of Cristo Rey on a local mountain.
