This artist is listed in books on oriental art. There is writing in Japanese across the top and down both sides of the woodblock. There is an old note on the back of the picture that says the scene is from a famous Noh play. The image size is 9" X 14" and the overall size framed is 14 1/2" X 18 1/2". Please note that the frame is a newer wood and glass frame. The woodblock itself is in good condition but there is some discoloration on the left side of the picture. This area is shown in the photographs. If you are a collector of oriental art, this picture would make a wonderful addition to your collection.
