The artist was connected to my Swedish family (Hallström) through my mother's grandfather Adolph Schuck. The artist Wilhelm Féron lived from 1868 to 1894. He traveled to France and several of his paintings were shown in the Paris Salon; Study of an Italian Girl, 1882; A (Trädgård) Garden in Vaules, 1884; and In the Garden, a Norman Farmers wife, 1885. His painting "Young Girl in the Garden" hangs in the National Museum in Stockholm. He was active in the Swedish art movement and was a contemporary of Anders Zorn. His typical style included people and landscapes. It is believed within our family that this was painted for the family with household items. There is a small amount of crackeleur in the background to the right of the crystal goblet. There are no rips or scratches in the canvas. The frame has always been with the painting for the last 60 years. There are some chips to the frame which are not visible when viewed from the front. His other orginal works have sold at auction for $25,000 I have no idea of the value of the painting I will consider all offers.
